Kickstarter to get Bounce Metronome ...

Hi everyone,

I talked with some of you about this some while back, my Bounce Metronome program which can do Flamenco 12 beat clock rhythms. Like this

and

See Flamenco Compás "Clock"

Anyway - I know you have plenty of other Flamenco metronomes - and this is rather limited in the number of preset rhythms in it - only the 12 beat rhythm, with subdivisions as shown.

That's just the preset rhythms though, you can make any notatable rhythm you like with music notation within the program, also adjust timing of individual notes by hand or tap out a rhythm.

The big plus of Bounce is it's visual display, which shows the timing really precisely. It also means, you can switch off the sound and use it as a purely visual metronome - if you don't like playing along to a click but want something visual to follow.

Anyway this is just to say that I've started a kickstarter to get Bounce Metronome running on the Intel Mac.

It's nearly there, at 89% and less than half way through the campaign. That makes it a near certainty, hardly any Kickstarters fail if they get that far Still, it would be great to go over 100% and know for sure it's definitely going to happen.

If any of you are interested do take a look, the kickstarter is here

Bounce Metronome, Tune Smithy, Lissajous 3D... on Intel Mac!

and the reward is an unlock key for all my programs.

As you'll see, it's for OSX only. I can't see a way to do it on iOS, not yet anyway, except to write some new apps from scratch which I hope to explore some day.

Thanks.

Oh and on the debate, should you use a metronome or not, I'm firmly on the fence there :). No way would I recommend that anyone uses a metronome especially in Flamenco if you have a good sense of rhythm without it.

But it could well be useful to some. You can use a metronome to help with sensitivity to timing, and rhythmic precision, and sense of tempo and steady tempo - and you don't need to ever play the metronome with actual music to do that. You can do that just with tapping and rhythm exercises along with the metronome.

I´ve got a full time 10 hours a day job, family, and fairly very little to time to practice
For my money, playing with a metronome or a prerecorded rythm track it`s extremely usfeul, as it makes the most of my little time. Just 30 minutes with a click or a rythm track sounding, and i´ll sit playing and playing without any waste of time.
It`s difficult to get such a concentracion and dedication without them
And I remember a Greg Bisonette clinic saying that it does´n´t matter all the awards, magazine covers, and classic records he´s been into- he STILL practices everyday with the metronome, and wishes everyone could do that
