Mahogany is a very interesting choice. I have never tried, but I´m 99% sure that it can be an interesting flamenco tonewood. Feel, weight and taptone is interesting.
I´ve worked with Ovangkol on a steel string and i would NEVER use it on a flamenco. Its very heavy and dampens a lot. Good for steel strings which have more power, but I cant imagine it on a flamenco. But, of course, I might be wrong.

I've seen Mahogany and Ovangkol on flamencos, but I myself am not sure how they would both work out.

Here is a Mahogany Flamenco

I'd love to see negras from Walnut and Wenge. One tonewood I have a rogue suspicion would make an excellent blanca is mulberry. One of the finest tonewoods I've come across is Higuerilla - it's close to Panama RW in some ways - I reckon that'd make a wonderful negra too!

Anders,
I was just joking about the fact that nowadays I do not have much free time to build (only on weekends), and your answers gave me some motivation to start again.
I know the work involved in making a guitar.
