Hi all flamenco guitarrists, Ill present my problem as it happened. I ordered 3 transcriptions from an important trancriber. The package was calculated to arrive to my place in USA between 7 and 10 days, but after 20 days I write him an email saying that the package hasnt arrived yet. He sent me again the same order and ...nothing. The most probable is that both packages got lost in the way.
What should I do? Now Im staying in another city. He knows that I havent received nothing. Should I pay something extra to ask him to send me again the package where Im staying now ? What would you do in my place? Thank you
RE: My order got lost, ergo my money ? (in reply to fran)
You could indeed do that. Here in the Netherlands lot's depends on the postal company dealing with it and obviously the quality of the individual postman involved. Every now and then some are caught on throwing away mail in stead of delivering it. Foreign mail can run true many hands before it even reach your country/city. I once ordered dvd spindels in Italy. They never arrived dude to unexplained relabeling. They didn't use the international postal services but an Italian express service. They somehow ignored the correct address data on the package, googled my sir name and city on the internet and delivered it to the very first Van Goch popping up, unknown family living at the other side of the town. Sometimes packages are handed to "neighbours" living blocks away without leaving you a note were to collect it. Last week i reluctantly ordered a rare stuffed nightjar in Italy. It arrived within a couple of days, well packed and well handled.
Some companies only deliver 1 or 2 days a week. If they miss you that day it will arrive 7 days later. A package that seemed lost and was replaced on my request arrived after all 1 week later (and the replacing one 3 weeks later). Other packages from the same country running true better channels arrived within days. Funny enough some packages handed to british royal mail end up in the hands of Dutch royal mail (post.nl with fast delivery) and others end up in in the hands of Sannd (with slow delivery).
