RE: i once had a likeable personalit... (in reply to guitarbuddha)
My first LP of lute music was that of Eugene Dombois and I think i have worn it out but Evangelina Mascardi is not too shabby if perhaps let down by a less that good recording.

oh come on, that recording was crappo. See through that is to uncover the gems below. Well maybe not. Anyway I thought Robert Barto was the current gold standard. I have a number of his albums. Post the piece the girl played by your hero for proper a b comparison. I dare you.

Ted man you just don't get it.
The playing is bad, unaccomplished, naive and uncontrolled.
Now everyone has off days, lapses of judgement and blindspots. We are all human. But the playing is bad in a systemic way, the recording is not an issue.
If you find it acceptable or even commendable then what is the point of offering you an alternative ? You will use those same ears to find fault as is clearly your agenda.
I do not imagine myself to be without prejudice but I think that I listen to music in a different way.

''Thank you old bean. That was fantastic.......a fine post ,appreciated in Norfolk England!!''
Both from this thread........I think there are a couple of clues here? Whilst typing this reply the members on this thread viewing consist of one member with personal details in their profile and three without....me being one of the three. The other two are longer term members whom have given little or no personal info on their profiles. I don't wish to appear argumentative......am just a little perplexed at your reply?

Just a minute.....are you pulling my once liked one? Have I finally lost all my sense of humour? Has a slow Norfolk lifestyle impacted on my intelligence more detrimentally than I had hoped. Has Noddy left toy town? Has Noddy left Slade? Put me out of my misery! PLEASE!

<I once had a likeable personality, etc. etc.>
Maybe a few of Mr. Wordsworth's immortal words might be appropriate here:
"What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now forever taken from my sight Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower, We will grieve not, but rather find Strength in what remains behind. . ."
When you get to my age, you begin to realize that for most of us, Life is really a series of compromises. . .

I was thinking just the same..... that's why i didn't respond with "balls (not to mention full balls)" are a giveaway. On the other hand you started your post with "i once had......"so you might have had a sex change in between, families with two (married) mothers do exist and pink happens to be slang for the lower situated female naughty bits :-).
