Prudencio Saez guitars?

Anyone played these guitars or know anything about the makers/reputation?

Found their website http://guisama.com/home and one or two badly recorded clips on Youtube.

..and there's a couple of mentions in the archives here, though its not a name that comes up as often as other Spanish factories (Alhambra, Camps etc).

I am trying a G18 shortly.

I have had a model 22 for about 2 years. I have had no problems with it and it is well finished. I did take a bit off the bridge to lower the string height and it is now spot on. It is not a subtle tone but has a good old school Flamenco sound and is quite loud. I would recommend for for beginner/intermediate player.

Thanks for the input Derek, yours was one of the posts I found in the archive.

I will be trying a model 24 soon, which looks like its the negra version of your model, and also the G18 as I mention above.

Still , not many Prudencio guitars around , would be good to get more info/views.

How did you find the Prudencio guitars?
I know of a couple of people using them in my area in Norfolk through a mutual friend but have not seen/heard one myself. I have been informed that they are good guitars?
Did they tick any boxes for you?

Best

I found them good for the money. Both models were properly set up and nicely finished, both identical finish really (varnish, rosette etc) but the G18 had nicer hardware and had more of a dark negra growl to it.

I also tried the more expensive Alhambra 10fp (which was out of my budget).... and immediately put it down and went back to deciding between the two Prudencios. The Alhambra nut was way too high and the sound did nothing for me, I would have taken the far cheaper PS 24 over the Alhambra, but I ended up buying the G18.

Its actually still in its box - its partly a Christmas present and I have a very strict wife
