I don't know. No guitar sounds "good" in that room they film in.
I have noticed this as well. These dudes need to get some new recording equipment. Also, I appreciate that the gentleman always plays the same piece so you can compare, but every guitar has that same muddy echoey sound. it is a shame because they seem to have some good guitars in stock and apparently they deliver worldwide.

I have visited Jordi at Solera, I found him a very helpful and good dealer. He's a serious flamenco aficionado, plays well and knows guitars. He had been dealing for several years within Spain before launching the international Solera site.
He is connected in flamenco circles and sometimes stocks ex-professional guitars. If the Solera videos don't help, you can often find these guitars being used in performance in youtube videos; some examples below.
(Of course nothing can match trying the guitar, distance buying without trying is never the best way!)

It's a shame that places videos are so bad,
I came across some new videos of Sanchis Lopez 2F's - one blanca and one negra and the recording quality of the videos are so bad they both sound the same, thin and reedy.

I think you have got it wrong. On checking the barba guitar, I see that it had two cracks repaired. That might explain why it was sold at that price. I've had interactions with Jordi (owner at that place); As orsonw said, he is a nice guy with good knowledge about flamenco guitars

Are these prices realistic? Some of them seem doubled up. And how can a Reyes Hijo be worth 8.800 when a Barba is priced at 3.800.
One of the best guitars I ever played was a Barba and El Niño de l Leo has retired a great 1992 Reyes Padre for one.
The old Barba's don't seem to command as much as the more modern ones. You'll see this in discussions here and from talking to several players that the 90's to current are considered his best and most consistent builds. That's not to say he didn't make good older guitars.

I have had my eye on the AF25 from 2003. However, the low price and even the new improved video don't really inspire confidence somehow. The guitar does not sound as full and rich to me as it should, and since I am nowhere near Europe, I just cannot risk buying the guitar sight unseen. C'est la vie.

Is this a pedro de miguel which Carlos de Jacoba is playing in this vid (instead of the Conde which he used to play earlier and which is being offered for sale at the mentioned shop shop)? not sure.

Yes, in most youtube videos of Carlos de Jacoba he is playing this Pedro de Miguel.
e.g.
More recently he's playing a peghead don't know which maker?
But what I really want to know is what happened to David de Jacoba's album? He talked about recording it a while ago but I never heard of it's release and I cannot find it for sale?

flamencoguitars for sale . net has good prices when you compare to other similar shops. Only thing they should do I think is improve the recordings quality so people could judge a better if buying the guitar without trying it in person first.

All we hear is the echo from the room, and barely any of the actual direct guitar sound. The result is, all the guitars sound pretty much the same.
I totally agree. Perhaps this is a good thing because I would be draining my account so fast if these guitars sounded any better.
The clips where Juan Ramon Caro plays sound much much better, but most of those guitars are now sold. The two videos in this link really show the difference in sound quality. Hard to believe it is the same guitar.
