New Transcription - En Casa Del Herr...

Hi,

Just did this quick tab tonight. Left out the hammers and pulls etc..., but it's for advanced players only (not me - haha). I know a lot of people mention they like this one. Ricardo, I know you're one. Enjoy!

I am waiting patiently for Errol to put it in pdf. I am curious becuase this tune sounds to me like in C#, but the accompaniment is surely 4 por medio. I think he dubbed in the falsetas w/out capo, but not sure.

Yes, the falseta's in C#, and I just listnened to the comping and you're right, it sounds like por medio at 4. Good call. Tomatito is so unconventional. He is a mad scientist.

Sorry about not having it in Pdf. I honestly still haven't figured out how do so, despite many explanations. I'm also considering doing them originally in GP4 for now on, but I like this interface, and especially the playback I like. I'm sure Errol will be around to help me out soon.

Hey Doit, you mean "pa la pimpi"? That one is in a weird tuning as I recall. My former teacher showed it to me once. When I see him again, I will ask him to play it slowly for me. But it is a good choice. I love that tune.

This falseta just taught me a valuable lesson....."
Don't assume anything!"
I've been assuming that since the song is in por medio C# then the intro must be played there as well. Wrong! I would hear the low notes and think i must be hearing it wrong. I have seen two guitarists playing together, one por arriba and one por abajo with capo, but never in this configuration.
This falseta is going to take some work to master, it's almost like hard bebop.
Thanks,
Trev

Ya, I don't know who originated the whole guitarists playing at different positions thing in flamenco, but I think I've heard Paco and Tomatito do it with Camaron.

You're right, a lot of this modern stuff is like Bop in a way. Especially Tomatito and Diego de Morao. Maybe that's why I'm attracted to it. I'm smitten by the rhythms.

In a weired tuning?? Once I tryed to tab it. But the fingering was very unpossible to play... I thought there must have been a trick!! I saw a video where he played it. Some chords looked like por medio...but Tomatito is famous for his tangos.. And did he ever compose a tangos in normal tuning?? Crazy!
Yes please ask your teacher for this piece!!! I love it very very much!!

As far as C# bulerias, I think it was Paco's idea first. Check out Vivire. Paco does a lot in C# on this CD, with Tomatito capoed on 4 or 5 depending. Paco ended up recording bulerias solo in this key on Zyrab ( it is called Soniquete, capo at 3 so it sounds like E). I have heard a lot of nice things in this key from various players, but so far nothing beats that one.

Question Ricardo,
You say, "As far as C# bulerias, I think it was Paco's idea first." Do you mean that he was probably the first to play in C# without a capo?

Also, I'm told that in the last buleria video you recorded at Todd's house you are playing a Sanchis maple guitar. Is that true? Is is fronm the bros. or from the father? And if so, what do you think of the sound of maple verses cipres? I personally love the grain of maple and have debated on buying my first blanca in maple but i really haven't had any experience with this wood on a flamenco guitar. Currently I play a Hermanos Conde EF5 negra but I really want a more blanca sound now.

Salud,
Trevor
