Nail protection for rasgueados (find...

Hi,
This week has been a fun week practicing rasgueados. On a whim, I decided to put on some sparkly pink-tinted nail polish, and I was momentarily surprised when it came off after I practiced more. Of course it came off. I suppose if I wanted a way to show the wear-pattern, that would be a sure way to do it. If regular nail polish comes off that easily, it must be hard on the nails over time!

This week, I'm going to make a trip into Boots into the bewilderingly long aisle with the nail products to look for nail polish that will stay on (I will be avoiding all things with sparkles because those will just make the polish rough and more likely to come off instantly).

So before I vanish into the shop (hopefully to emerge again), are there any suggestions about things that work?
An Internet search tells me that there are base coats and top coats. Maybe a few coats of a base coat and a couple of top coats? That might be enough to last for a while.
Or Boots so strong nail polish strengthener?
Or Sally Hansen age correct dry & brittle nail care?
Or Sally Hansen 4 in 1 nail conditioner?
OPI start to finish?

Thanks.

when I have used nail varnish the hardest one I could find was Sally Hansen's hard as nails, but it still wears off after playing for a dance class. Use one of the super glue variants, you can get Elegant Touch acrylic nail glue in a small bottle with a brush. It's basically super glue you can put on with a brush like nail varnish.

Thanks, I'll see if I can find one of those in the shop.
I like the idea of an option that comes with a handy brush. That cuts down on the phaffing and reduces the chances that I'll glue my hands together. ;)

Well, if you want pretty nails put the polish on first. After it dries put on a nice thick coat of brush on Nail glue (the kind that is used to put on a fake nail or repair). Krazy glue with a brush is the exact same product, different package/brand. NOT SUPER GLUE which is different. If you are practicing a lot, it will last a week then you can just put more glue on in the holes you might make.

If you want to change nail polish color then you have to wait until the glue is all flaked off, don't try to remove it prematurely.
