middle finger golpe???

HEY CHAMPS!!
Just curious, who uses their middle finger for a golpe?
I was told that it's more for the chilled solea type stuff. Not used constanly but for a less aggressive golpe. Hope you all understand.
ANY THOUGHTS????

I do, both above and below the strings (two different techniques) but there's no reason why M should be softer/less aggressive than any other finger.

Hola

I always use i and m at the same time and often include a. This is because one finger golpes are a great way to break nails. The number of fingers used has nothing to do with the volume of the sound: depends how hard you strike.

most of my golpes are with m and a at the same time. Sean gave the reason, less broken nails. Besides; I prefer the sound of more than 1 finger

Oh blimey, just worked out who Larone is... :-)

Of course! I remember spending an entire day in your piso off Plaza Arenal drinking sherry and playing about on the guitars, you monkey. My dreadful health! I'm pretty sure I have a photo of you playing guitar on the toilet but I won't get you a reputation, but if I need a copy of a discontinued CD or something one day I might dig it out

All good Tob..LARONE (i got it at last)

I'm wrapping up for winter here, cold fingers numb practice! A few of us are meeting tonight in Belfast for a bit of a play. It's informal - just amongst friends as usual. I hurt my hand and shoulder about a year ago and it's only just starting to heal. I have to stay off pooter as much as possible though and lots of swimming and yoga. So I'm off :-) catch u later

Hi Larone,

I am missing my (a) finger and the tip of my pinkie (e) from an accident.
So I have to use my pinkie finger with a "modified" plastic fingerpick on the end for my golpes. So I don't have to worry about breaking a nail, hehe.

Hmmm, maybe I should try a combination m & e golpe for a different sound. Especially during those golpes with a thumb downstroke...

Cheers!
Mark
