Joan Cashimira vs. Alhambra

I'm looking to purchase an upper level estudio guitar/entry level concert blanca. I currently have a Benito Huipe blanca (not one of the top models) which is pretty good-an upgrade in overall balance from a Navarro student blanca. The Huipe has a shallower depth but is very powerful with nice full basses. The Navarro was better made, in my opinion, and was suited very well for classical and flamenco but with not very much 'growl'. I'm looking at a Cashimira 105, which is the top of the line estudio model and an Alhambra 7FC. I have played an Alhambra 10FC and was very impressed. The 7 is supposed to be similar but with less expensive materials. I'm wondering if either of these guitars would even be an upgrade to the Huipe. Thanks for your feedback.

As far as I know Huipe doesn't farm out even his lower models, he may not make them himself but he's probably around and sees them regularly before they go out. I don't think you can say that about Alhambras, don't know about Cashimira.

None of the guitars you are contemplating will be a substantial enough upgrade - if at all - from the Huipe. You're better off playing the Huipe for as long as it takes you to save up for a first rate luthier guitar.

I tried the Alhambra 7FC and didn't think much of it, I wouldn't buy it myself.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably wait then. I'm pretty fond of the Paracho makers-maybe a Navarro Reyes model or a Carlos Pina at some point.
