Black Golpeadores

over the past year i have noticed what seems like a boat load of guitars with black golpeadores, the latest being a hippner at the bay. was there a time period when black was fashionable? are folks swapping clear plates for black plates to hide some cosmetic defect/damage? are these recent sightings more a fluke than anything else? it just seems odd that all of sudden black golpeadores are showing up.

Sure they're ugly just like the white ones. But popular among the gypsy rumberos(correct word?).

An antique came with such.
I required the big white golpeador to be removed even before it was brought over.
Just unbearable to my eye.

I like the white ones and the black ones, it's like shouting to the world "This guitar is for flamenco!". Represent!

Presumably clear plates are a quite new development -- it would be interesting to look into when they first appeared.

Ever hear of the NAACP? National Association for the Advancement of Clear Plates?

Or the NGO's Non Golpeador Organizations ?

You need to speak to your local lobbyists.

Personally; I like 2 piece white golpeadors on blancas and clear on negras with cedar tops.

Lately; I've been besieged by lobbyists who are demanding grey golpeadors on both blancas and negras. Something about transparancy seems to offend their eye.
