Fiesta de la Buleria

Thanks God I have Internet at home and thanks God I don´t have any more problems to log in. Thanks Simon.

Hi everybody again. I am very exited as next week I´ll be going to Jerez. I already know who is going to be in the Fiesta de la Buleria: El Torta, Remedios Amaya ,Mercedes Ruiz ,la familia los Carpios ,la peña Terremoto.

Apart from that we have the shows in Plaza de la Asuncion. There will be 4 shows between the 14th and the 17th with 4 of the best guitarist from Jerez Gerardo Núñez, Diego del Morao, Paco Cepero y Moraito Chico.

We will have cante, Jose Merce among others. And shows in las peñas. Honestly if somebody has the chance to go to Jerez you shouldnt miss it. Anyway everything will be broadcasted on the Internet.

If anyone is coming it will be nice to meet up

Un saludo

Melchor

What is the flight (from UK) and accomodation situation like? I wouldn't mind a short trip.

Sorry Simon for the dalay in my reply but I wasn´t able to log in. About flights I don´t really know. About 150 pounds to Seville I think. I just work for an airline company so I get cheaper flights. About accommodations in the website of El Carbonero there is a nice hotel wich I recomend. It ios cheap, 20 euros per night.
Un saludo

Hope everything is going well with the new job and everything.
You certainly get back to Jerez a lot!

Melchor, when you say a lot of the Fiesta de Bulerias will be broadcast on the Internet, do you mean on Ondajerez?

cheers amigo,

Hola Ron como estas?

I am lucky that my family lives in Jerez so I don´t have to pay accommodation. I just plan to go to Jerez once a month once I get my flight concesions in two months time. Yes, everything will be broadcasted on Ondajerez. I´ll tape the whole festival. By the way I have been thinking about you because I promised to send you a videotape but I can not find your address. I must have left it in Spain. If you could send me your address in a private email I will send you the tape on tuesday.

Un saludo

Melchor

Hi Melchor.
Good to see you again the other day. I really hope to come to Jerez next week from 15th sept but I have a comitment I have to get out of to make it worth while.

(Simon) About flights to jerez from UK_ www.ryanair.com do flight direct from stanstead to jerez but they only leave Saturday or sunday. I have to leave Monday so I'll either go to Seville or Malaga if I can go at all.
Hope to see you all there as I really want to go to the festival.
Fergus

Melchor,
I'll see you Thursday night at the cante accompaniment class. I probably won't sit in the "hot seat" though. The last 2 times were a bit humiliating.

Hola Phil

It is hard to be surrounded by 16 year old boys who can accompany, isn´t it? I tell you what Phil when I used to seat in the hot seat I was very nervous but I think it is a very good chance to get confidence. If only El Carbonero didn´t take the piss sometimes. I used to apologise to te cantaor before, it helps. Maybe tomorrow I´ll try some alegrias.
I´ll see you there,I hope you have time for a beer afterwards.

Hi Melchor! I'll be going to Jerez early Friday morning to do a little research at the Fundación, then Friday night to the show at Asunción and afterwards to whichever peña is easiest to find, Saturday to the Bulería and Sunday night home to Morón.

If you and Phil are going to be around Friday midday maybe we could meet for a couple of beers. I'm staying at the Hostal San Andrés, 956 34 09 83 if you want to leave a message. Or you can contact me by email too, even while I'm there.
