Hello guitar enthusiasts!! I am currently organizing the first guitar making seminar in Granada, Spain. As most of you know, Granada is one of the most important cities in the world concerning it´s tradition in guitar making( Flamenco and Classical) with more than 20 active makers. The seminar will take place in a workshop right in the " Realejo" where you can find most of the important makers of the Granada School.
The date is February 2013 and the durarion will be 4 weeks. First two to enrole get free shared accommodation in a holiday apartment 15 min walk from the workshop.
The participants will get knowledge about how to make a guitar in the Granada School style, which implicates the use of hot glue, wedges and string for the asembly of the instrument and shellac finish. Materials and tools will be supplied.
I have been making guitars in the Granada School style for the last 20 years and have gained world wide reputation for my instruments.
The last 6 years I am giving lecutures about Classical and Flamenco making to "Studiosus" travellers from Germany.

Hi Henner, good luck with the course there. You may know I have been running courses down on the coast in La Herradura for some years. Its a great to share knowledge about guitar building to those that really want to learn. All the best Stephen

Sounds like fun. Unfortunately February is when our semester starts up.
I've been a visiting prof. at U. Granada for a while and spent 6 months there in 2010 and 2 months this year. Lived in Realejo both times. I always miss the place. Say hi to my friends in Casa Lopez Garcia if you ever go in there.

I just moved my workshop to the new town, as I live close by and it is much less stressfull, then crossing the city to get to the Realejo. I also miss the place, but I still maintain my old shop for the guitar courses and some evening classed in the future. I spend nearly 17 years working in the Realejo and feel part of it.
