what progression is being played

Hi everyone,

This is the link to Estrella Morente's bulerias. There is a part that you often hear on other ones also starting at 4:50 and going to about 4:57. What chords are being played up until abanico on A major?

Actually the guitar plays in Key of C#, I don't have perfect pitch or guitar handy so I don't know if there is a capo. THis is the cycle of 5th as been discussed in theory sections....a more colorful pulling progression that outlines the "andalusian cadence".

F#m-B7-E7-A7-D....and D is held till resolve on C#.

If you transpose to normal buleria por medio capo 4 (or higher) its:
Dm-G7-C7-F7-Bb........A.

Excellent, thanks a lot. The capo is on 6ths in this one, at least I think so. And I thought it would start on Dm, but couldn't figure out the rest.

In Gitanos Andaluses with Paco's brother singing, there is also a part like this. I'm assuming it would a similar progression, just capo on different fret.

So the key is C# because of where the capo is, right? My theory is patchy at best.

With a capo on you're transposing so if you play the same thing relating to a different capo position, you're changing the key.

..but the key isnt anything because of the capo, its because of what you're playing.

Then the guitar is actually capoed at 2nd fret playing in C# as I talked about.

It sounds to me that the primary guitar is capo'd at the 6th fret, playing in A Phrygian (which transposes to Eb Phrygian). There appears to be a 2nd guitar and standup bass as well.

I think it is on the 6th, I try to play along and it sounds very congruent.

The other question is, is this section played in half compases? Or is it a whole compas with Dm, then 12 to 6 on G7 then C7, then 12 to 6 on F7 then Bb until it resolves to A?
