Ok dont get me wrong i am not complaining but....wow i am freaking out a little, i wanna practice an rehearse and get my show ready (all this nice attention means nothing if we dont feel good about the show cause of lack of rehearsal)... i didn't know they do it like that, i thought a couple of media calls which ive already done...that's it
I just got a itinerary for a festival ...f*uck me i was hoping to rehearse and practice with the company of people some of which i haven't worked with before and they only get here in the last week before show...2 singers get here one day before... this is insane, i am exhausted just looking at it...i think i worked less in the factory
(btw.i am talking to friends here i would never say anything to anyone from the festival or outside the forum) am i exaggerating ? its a lot of expectations just before a show right ?...also i was planning to do a juerga for all of us and caminos flamenco and all the flamencos coming in from interstate on the friday night...just for us flamencos...i think this just killed that...gonna have to rehearse in hallways and buses
@ Al well still try to do that farruca idea we were gonna do on sunrise in one of this

Don;t worry Flo.
Probably half an hour before, the Network will phone up and tell you it's been cancelled as they will now be doing a piece on "Urban Dingoes Raid Dustbins", a "Streets of Adelaide" TV special!
RE: OK now i am officialy scared (in reply to Ron.M)
lol...i never thought id say this...cause i do like this kind of stuff makes you feel important ...its very cool...but now it would be a good time for some cancellations
i stayed up 2 nights worrying and just trying to organize and plan one of this things...now looks like i am gonna die of sleep deprivation

Florian,
I hope you've made up a list of "stock answers" to the usual BS questions the Media journalists will ask. Rehearse saying them out loud and record yourself and tidy up the phrasing etc to suit.
You KNOW you are gonna be asked things like "Did you learn in Spain?", "How long have you been playing?", "What do you think is unique about this show?" etc etc.
NO MORE "uummmmm"s!! You're a PRO!
Also do a spot of advertising like squeezing "I give lessons too" into the convo.
RE: OK now i am officialy scared (in reply to Ron.M)
Thanks Kevin, il try .....good points Ron, no i haven't thought of any of it yet, still getting my head around all this stuff i have to do cause i signed and never thought it be this intense... but i should advertise lessons cause all this is nice and dandy but i am broke and still need to pay bills
I still use that one to get over nerves of playing in front of a lot of people " you only playing for one person at the time" absolute brilliant piece of advice...the best i ever got

i just cant take that description seriously with a straight face...if you say so lol,...i dont know what its soposse to describe but whatever it is i dont feel like it and i dont think i ever will...just trying to not humiliate myself in front of strangers from gig to gig and pretend like its all fine and i am used to all this

Hey Florian,
I know the feeling. I have a show next friday with Simone, Sebastian and (David from byron)and his partner. The singer comes on wednesday and I will be at work during the day. Then thursday i will work during the day and be at another gig at night. Then work again friday. So it will be a quick run through wednesday night then "see you at the show"
It should be interesting as i have never played for David. Seba wants to do a 15 min alegrias and a farruca. Davids girlfriend wants to dance a SPB that i have never seen. Simone wants to do a caña and some new stuff as well.

I understand your stress mate.....well i am there with you in spirit buddy, you will do amazing, I have no doubt ...somehow we always ended up ok so far no matter how stressful and scarey its been...so...well be fine
if David is as a easy to accompany as Eva no problem, give me a report of whats hes like, i dont speak Spanish so i had Sebastian talk to him for me, hope hes a easy going guy also tell me what fret hes doing the farruca on when you know...i need to plan a flamenco medley that's starts with Seg, Guajira, Farruca, Solea, ends with Fandangos de Huelva (all in just the first number, changing key and compas without stooping which i worked out)...il decide what fret il do it once i know where he sings farruca and compare to where Antonio sings Seg...hope not higher than 2 or i am gonna have to rethink about all my falsetas and intros

lol thanks mate, I wish.... its not like that at all...theres no women (girlfriend who will be with me)
i just looked at the thing again...lol its not as busy as i first thought and freaked out...it just makes it look scarey...cause they put down and timed every detail...ground transport etc
