Binding for ziricote Negra

Hello all,
Am starting a flamenco build, a Negra with ziricote back & sides. I was planning on the standard EIR binding but was wondering if anyone had some alternative ideas for a binding choice.

well i could name 100 wood species that would be an alternative but that wont realy help i guess.

what i like to do in similair situations is to go look at guitar pictures on other forums, and google images etc, you often run into cool pictures with different binding/purfling combinations, plus you ge a visual idea of what it would look like.

How about ziricote?
Cutoffs from the sides are always a cheap source of bindings and it can look cool if you get all of them arranged so they end up where they were cut off.

I'm glad to read that you're using ziricote. I''m looking forward now to seeing photos.

I also think ziricote bindings would be real nice. I've also imagined ebony bindings and no purfling. To me a very black ebony would provide a visual terminating point for the dark lines in the ziricote (imagine without the light purfling here. Not saying its ebony just saying dark like in this photo):

Medium-dark Cocobolo gets my vote
I made a classical once with dark cocobolo and ziricote bindings, it was a nice subtle look.
Not sure if I have any pics around of it, I'll have a look.

I like contrast so I used flamed maple with Ziricote. I also like it with an ebony binding and using the same Ziricote cutoff for binding. I always use a light colored purfling as well when using a darker binding against Ziricote. It breaks up the colors nicely.

Hello
I finally decided on ebony with WBW purfing for the binding. Thanks to all for their response.
