Practicing one technique for 10 hours is the worst thing
you can do.

If you could ask Gerardo himself, he would tell you to never ever
do that again.

Unless you are interested in developing severe and painful hand problems.

If thats the case, keep doing that. Its only a matter of time before you
will not be able to play at all.

Ask any pro player out there, they will tell you the same thing.

Good luck.

TK

Wow 10 hours on the same exercises, youre mad :-) !

Toddk makes a good point, also keep in mind that if you do a exercise mechanicly is useles, you have to concentrate 100 % on each note and stop and correct whatever is lacking.

Once you have the exercise and nothing is lacking anymore the exercise becomes mibe a warm up rutine, in that case is time to move on to another exercise.

And whatever you do stop and have a brake every 10 or 20 minutes, I always put a flamenco track on, this way you are incorporating developing your palo structure knolodge while resting.

Also to save time and maximaise your practice I combine exercises.
eg.
I practice rasqueado with my right hand, and practice advanced chords with my left hand togheder. (when I say advanced I mean harder ones than e major etc, open up any jazz book youl find some it dosent matter wich it works the left hand , I am not too worried about the way it sounds).

Be carefull, you can overpractice a technik. Than your fingers dont do anymore exacly what you want. 10hours... (O_0);;; When I play 3hours for dance my hand begins to hurt. You really love gerardos composition right?

Sounds really useful. How does the exercise go? I'd like to try it out, maybe incorporate it into my practices.

Thanks,
Cheston
