Another Beginner

Hello all!

Another beginner here. Well.... beginner to Flamenco at least.

I've played guitar for about 6 years now. I played rock for 5 years and now my interest is in classical guitar and flamenco. I'm quite knowledgeable in recording and mixing, so I could participate in the forum through that! I know a TINY bit of theory. Chords, scales (only Pentatonic, Blues, and just starting to learn the Phrygrian.) and keys and the like. I started to play by ear to some videos of classical players and Grisha Goryachev. I think I've seen him post in this forum some! Anyway, I figured why bother to learn to play all these "pieces?" without knowing some basic stuff.

I know that there aren't really "songs" in flamenco correct?

And what's the difference between say, a Bulerias and Alegrias, Furruca and Soleas?

If anybody could explain or provide links for a sort of introduction that would be wonderful!

Thanks,

Aaron

There are plenty of flamenco songs, that is what flamenco is, after all. Just takes a little bit of listening. This guy is one of my favs.

Thank you for clearing that up! Enjoyed the video!

I also took a peek at the film in your signature. Interesting, I just saw an hour long video on the making of a violin yesterday. The beginning process seemed almost the same!
