your post made me think of Paco's old negra, and I was wondering if you or someone could discuss that guitar, and whether you mean the old negra that was stolen? Does anyone know that story?

"I'm just a poor crazy man in love with his art." Santos Hernandez
This is the "oldest" negra I know of. He used it on his first album and live concerts until the mid 70's. There was a color vid of him playing it on a boat in the sunshine...it was a very dark back and sides and neck, perhaps indian rosewood but I can't see the grain too well. Here it is in black and white:
A similar or perhaps THE same guitar was used years later with Manolo Sanlucar:
The guitar that was stolen from his car that he said was his favorite was the one you see him play in the only video of him accompany camaron....the last vid I saw of this guitar was 1979 with Larry Coryell and J. Mclaughlin Meeting of the spirits. After this he did Solo Queiro Caminar and Friday night in Sanfrancisco the movie Carmen etc with this replacement guitar, perhaps indian Rosewood by photos I can't say for sure:
But soon after he started with this guitar and has used the same one ever since to the present day, which has changed looks due to refinishing, change of rosette etc:
