Flamenco films and documentaries

Hi all,

I'm looking for recent flamenco documentaries and films. Could you tell me which ones you've seen lately and what you thought of them?

Looking forward to your responses! Annemarie

This is not really a film, but I found it pretty useful, it's also hilarious!

Hi Anne Marie,

I love the films by Jocelyn Ajami,

Carmen Amaya--Queen of the Gypsies

and

Gypsy Heart

Both are focused to flamenco dance, but contain beautiful flamenco guitar music,
wonderful history on Carmen Amaya and her impact on flamenco dance.

If you go to youtube and search for gypsy heart productions in the channel
section, there are video clips.

Hope this is helpful!

Well, it's from 2004, but I really enjoyed The Flamenco Clan by Michael Meert. It's a documentary about an extended Roma clan talking about Flamenco, and showing how integral Flamenco is to their lives.

Thoroughly enjoyable with a LOT of great music.
