RE: Conde EF5N Vs. HS LOPEZ 1F NEgra (in reply to Edster)
I have played the Sanchis 1F but blanca, and the Conde EF5 but blanca too !
And the Sanchis was better.
If you want to buy a Conde, i recommand a Media Luna. Used. If you have the money. If you search , you can find one for 3000 - 3500.
But for new guitars from shops and for less price, go for the Sanchis
The price for the new EF5N from Mariano are just too much (above 3000) and is not justified for the lowest level guitar they produce. I never buy Guitars from these Shops anyway, because you can save a lot money in Music Fairs for instance or used.
However, i don't know how the NEGRA is, in comparison to the Media Luna Negras. The only Negra i like soundwise and the feel while playing is Conde, but i mean the Media Luna Condes. Maybe this sounds a bit harsh and i don't know why i feel so, but really 99% of the Negras i have played, feeled too much classic for me, except Conde. I have no experience with the EF5N Negra. If it comes close to the Media Lunas, then why not. I owned a Sanchis F03 Negra and it was too classical for my taste. But that was a lower level Sanchis too.
Anyway, better to play them first. Do you have the chance to play them?

I agree the Sanchis is higher quality for price range. Also agree they tend to be bass heavy, not unlike a classical, yet still retain the flamenco punch. I prefer the maple or cypress Sanchis guitars as they have more balance, not as bassy as the negras.

They have also combined the 2 Models 1F and 1F Extra...to Extra this year. So there is no more difference between 1F Models anymore..price is about 2500 Euros.
Also if you really want a Negra from Sanchis, then also consider the "Bulerias" Model. Its Spruce/Pau Ferro wood, like the one Paco has. I personally found this Model better than the 1F.
Here you can compare the sound of these two models a little bit

Thanks all for the replies. I currently have an Esteve Elec Spruce/Rswd and a Navarro Reyes Blanca. One is totally classical and the other is very flamenco. I think i like the idea of the Sanchis Negra. Im in the San Francisco area and there are no dealers so I have to rely on an online order. I am no flamenco guitar player but play a bit of Fusion like Ottmar and Gypsy Kings.
