The Forum

Hola Amigos,

Simon has asked me if I can cover for Admin on the Forum while he is sorting all his stuff out from his old home in Reading, England and going to Granada Province to live for good after giving up a highly paid job, while still in his 40's.

You can't fault the guy's courage..can you!

(Let's all take a moment to think about that!)

Thanks to Simon, and all the contributors this has turned out to be a great Forum for information, exchanges of ideas, discussion and a little bit of heated argument sometimes.

You just need to look at the above advice from Florian to Billyboy, or the great chord shapes that Ricardo has posted to realise how valuable this Forum is for everybody in every stage of learning and playing Flamenco Guitar.

Also the great contibutions from Estela (Zata).

And the fantastic uploads from ToddK, Ricardo, Henrik, Errol, Eddie.L, Jim, Grant, Jon (hey what's happened to Jon?), Ziryab.... too many to mention!
Plus posts from "celebrities" such as Grisha and Ramon Ruiz.

So I'm asking everybody not to let me down on my watch and let's keep this Forum a haven of great information and general Flamenco chat.

Finally, I'm sure we all wish the best of luck to Simon, thank him for starting the Forum, and wait with anticipation of his stories of his new life in Spain!

With Emilio Maya as his teacher, plus his regular visits to the peñas of Granada, it's only a matter of months before I'm gonna need lessons from him!

All the Best Simon!!

cheers

Ron

Simon-

I know it's been said probably 1000 times, but what's one more? Thanks again for creating a place where we can discuss (or like I've been doing latey - lurking around) this common bond we have . I am really envious of your move! Maybe someday I'll be able to do the same - but for now, I'm stuck here. Here's hoping that you move is smooth and that you have no major problems (we all have minor ones, no matter how big the move!). The next time I'm in Granada, you me and Kate (and don't forget Harold) will have to hook up.

Oh, and thanks to everyone that has contributed something to the forum. Big or small, we would not have a forum without your input!

Scott

All the best Simon!!!!

If a frend makes a dream come true, he makes it true a bit for all of us!

Maybe, just maybe, I pick up my stone and hammer, and come join you over there someday!

And Ron, Do not leave yourself out in the list! above!

Thanks Ron. Without this forum and the contacts I have made through it I would not be going.

If you will humour me, I will write of my adventures, a few photos and maybe some video clips are in the plan.

I'll be back online soon after my arrival.

Best of luck amigo.

Though I don't post much here (mainly cos I can't tell an A minor from a Morris Minor,
a "sharp" is something that gives your car a "flat" and neighbours have moved because of my "playing) I do read the list from time to time. I am a great music lover and what would flamenco be without its guitarists?

Don't forget to visit the dancer site occasionally and keep us up to speck on your activities.

Buen suerte,

Jim.

See you soon I hope Simon, and log on and keep us posted everynow and then.
Your courage has inspired me, life is too short to be in a job you dont wanna be in or to not live where you wanna live or to not folow your dreams.
when you live like that even when you fail you've won.

Ron i couldnt think of more capable hands to take care of the forum while Simon is gonne i know you will do a great job.
