RE: Sadler’s Wells Flamenco Festiv... (in reply to Adam)
Hi Adam, I bought a ticket for Vicente, still thinking if I should for Gerardo too. I have been to Vicente's concert in Belgium in May and would be cool to see him locally in London :)
If you are still up for a pub after his concert, count me in!

Gerardo* is using a lot more thumb than before, and not much arpeggio, which is definitely a shame, but frankly the man is still a beast with the guitar in hand. He's adapted brilliantly to the circumstances.

Hi all,
I just bought my tickets for Vincente and Gerardo's shows.
I have seen Gerardo before. I think it was a couple of years ago. We were having drinks with Ailsa and a few others after the show and he just came over to us, shook hands with us and thanked us! He's a real gentleman.
Would be nice to get together with Foro members before/after for a pint or two.

I'm going to Vicente and Manuela Carrasco
I had to choose between Vicente and Gerardo. Tough choice, but I saw Gerardo when he came last time and I haven't seen Vicente for years, so it's Vicente this time.

Hey Argaith,
>after the show and he just came over to us... Nice!
I ended up booking Gerardo's ticket for the festival too, Feb. will be a great month!
>Would be nice to get together with Foro members before/after for a pint or two. I'd love to join you guys, I'm a newbie in the forum. Just pop-in some pup nearby???

Hi guys,
Vicente tomorrow! As we proposed, we should meet up for a pint before/after the concert! I am not too familiar with the area but I am sure there are plenty of pubs around. Could anyone make any suggestions? Or even better, Argaith could you organize this plz? :)

Well, let's meet up afterwards for a pint. Let's meet in the lobby after the show, I look like my photo and I know a couple of you attending, so we should be able to reach critical mass and form a conspicuous crowd!
If anyone wants they can PM me for my number in case we all have trouble finding each other. Not posting it here obviously

i never noticed a bar next to Sadlers Wells before, if it's part of the theatre it will probably be closed after the show....
there is a pub between Sadlers Wells and Angel tube, on St. John Street, just round corner from the theatre. can't remember what it's called, but it's easy to find, especially if you get the tube there, you walk right past it on the way!

Hi all just thought i'd add my review of the festival - on Friday night I saw Olga Pericet Rosa, Metal y Ceniza (Rose, Metal and Ash). Loved Olga - she is really compelling - though I was less keen on the contemporary interludes - then again my friend who doesn't know much about flamenco liked these interludes and found they added extra interest. However I was delighted to see Antonia Jimenez on stage again - always v excited to see a female guitarist. I loved the singers too. As per usual found myself being completely transfixed by the power of flamenco and at one or two points moved to tears! This Friday I'm going to see Rafael Amargo - Poet in New York. Sounds like it might be quite a contemporary one again, however I am keeping an open mind - don't know much about this dancer. I wanted to see Gerardo tonight but couldn't make it. And Jose Merce but again can't make that one. Always next year! Look forward to hearing what everyone else thinks of the festival. Romanza (havent been on the forum for a couple of years - was learning flamenco guitar for a while but stopped when we started renovating our house - looking forward to getting back into it now!)
