Jerez Festival 2012

The schedule for the Jerez Festival has been published on deflamenco
http://www.deflamenco.com/noticias/verArticulo.jsp?codigo=FLA%7C3830

is anyone going ? As usual there is a lot of dance which does not excite me as much as it used to though I'll make an exception for Israel Galván. Top of my list is the Cante Jerez show ( Moneo, Morena and Zamba with El Torta and Capullo de Jerez) and the following night the wonderful La Macanita. So I think I may head down there for these two shows. Gerardo Nuñez is playing as is Antonio Rey and Alfrdo lagos and Dani de Morón which should please all you guitar afficionados.

I might go if there are people I can hang out with and show me how stuff works around the area

Ill throw in a few mugs for good company, if there is no good company then I am not sure.

Also I need drinking friends..

If I can find those things I might go if my money tells me to do it.

Ohh Kate now you got me excited and wanting to go to Jerez...! I'm now thinking about going from Friday March 2nd until Tuesday 13th (just because of cheap flights).
Am particularly excited about the Cante Jerez, the Viva Jerez one with Macanita, Rocío Molina, Joaquín Grilo... And all the Novísimos and other names I haven't heard, because they are still affordable enough to include in the programming at Rasa (where I work) :)

Last time it rained a LOT though.. (I still cringe when I think about when I slipped and fell in the street, holding a (very cheap but still!) guitar (without a proper case) in my hand, aarghgh! I was hurt worse than the guitar though :) )
Call me a sissy but it's all just more fun when it's warm and sunny..

I have similar sentiments about going to places alone.
