Saw it in a theatre when it was on tour for a film festival here in DC. The best things were Carpeta and Manolo Sanlucar (surprsingly good, though not too different then his last performances), and Paco was good too. Singing not like the old days. Dancing too modern and crazy for my tastes in general. The buleria juerga at the end was good too with Zambo and Jesus Mendez, sort of like how the other movie starts, but with no heavy weight like Paquera it was not the same for me. Piano duet was interesting too, but I prefer Diego to Chano.
The film quality and sound and lights are all far superior of course.

Maybe La Tana's cante gives it something new?
At first she just sings what paco sang on Cositas Buenas, but at the end she sings some bulerias por solea that was very intense. THat guitar looks like an old esteso and had a nice warm sound for a skinny blanca. Of course the entire movie was recorded in a studio and later the performances had to be "synched up" to the audio. But they did a better job this time then last.

Finally! I think I saw the trailer over a year ago, I can't believe I haven't been able to see it yet. Looking forward to October. Thanks for the heads up Harry.

I can't help it, this reminds me so much of the Michael Jackson video where he starts up or ends like a panther... the hand movements, even some of the moves. It's been a while that I saw it but still, that is what it reminds me of...
