Jose Luis was in San Antonio when he was in his late teens; sponsored by Casa Espana.. He performed at the University of Texas College in San Antonio.

After the show he played one of my guitars patterned in the style of Bernabe' and he said it was excellent.

Jose was playing a small and very soft Ramirez blanca at that time. Nice sound but very soft in its action.

He was a very nice fellow.

Guitars like that are why I still think Santos was the best. That guitar can go up against any contemporary guitar.

Lovely "nasal" (practically "strangled") sound there.
I like it very much.
(Also very nice playing).

I've got the feeling though that this guitar might not suit modern playing which seems to have a bigger, rounded sound and more solid trebles?

Great guitar sound though IMO.

cheers,

Ron
