Twangmasters!

Hi all,

I was listening to this enjoyable programme at the weekend and thought it would interest/amuse some of our members here with a rock/pop backgound.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b011290d

cheers,

Ron

I'm going to listen to it right now in the shop. I was hooked when they said the chord George Harrison played on HDN will be revealed.

That's a very interesting segment and makes you realise how talented George really was in the context of their style.

Yeah, I agree Simon.
I always thought that he played more like a guitarist in a Jazz combo in that he always tried to fit in, rather than stand out.
BTW..although he was official "lead" player in the band, John Lennon sometimes did some of the lead parts too.
What I always liked about George is that he never looked "cool", what with the big Bert Weedon type guitar worn high up LOL, but as the programme points out, all his lead pieces are so memorable and was definitely a big part of the Beatles' sound.

cheers,

Ron

I'm really bummed out, I can't get the program to stream. All the other BBC stuff streams except the music programs. What the heck.....

I finally heard the Twang show. Very cool. I also caught the interview with Kate Bush today.
