Does anyone know if the Gerhard Graf-Martinez DVDs and books can be bought anywhere in the UK? I tried looking for the El Mundo Flamenco , London shop on the net but cant seem to find it anymore.
Also, could anyone out there tell me how these DVDs compare to the Oscar Herrero ones, I am an 'intermediate' player looking for new material and as always, technical refinement.
RE: graf-martinez DVDs in UK? (in reply to jonnyf)
Mucho thanks for the help Jon,
I did read your review and then got the books and DVDs from Schott. I found this stuff quite interesting, the clear explanations of counting I found helpful and it was nice to see the PDL picado position so boldly stated. I do have a few reservations though, I am not totally convinced by this guys playing, he doesn't exactly blow you away does he!, all the exercises (Eg. picado) are demonstated slowly and never really at any speed and musically the falsetas are a little mediocre, Martinez' playing is not what I would call graceful or inspiring.
Having said this a few bits and bobs were of interest and will keep me occupied for a while until I get another Encuentro video, the Nunez maybe.
