Paco Pena to Perorm in Washington, DC
For anyone who is interested and who might be within commuting distance, or longer if you are willing to overnight, Paco pena and his group are performing in Washington, DC at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium this Sunday, 13 March, at 7:00 PM. The number of the box office to purchase tickets is (202) 994-6800.
I particularly like Paco Pena because, while he has accommodated modern influences in his playing, he still remains more traditional than Vicente Amigo and others, including Paco de Lucia. Should be a great evening.
Cheers,
Bill

Hi William,
Is this part of a tour or a one time show? Would you know if he is coming to the west coast (San Francisco)? I went to his webpage but I could not get a schedule of his upcoming tour dates.
Thanx D.

I don't know whether or not he will be playing in other cities in the U.S. My guess is he must be playing elsewhere in the U.S., as I can't see him bringing his entire group for a one-night stand in Washington, DC, but, again, I just don't know.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanx Paul.

Afraid not. Paco told me the nearest he's getting is LA -- and even that was difficult to arrange.
I notice that a lot of musicians are not touring the West Coast any more.

I got a picture with him after the concert. Maybe I should upload it, to make you use the purple emoticon.
