Tangos Newbie question

My question is in regards to accents. I'm trying to figure out which accents to bring out.

Is it:
(1) (2.5) (4)
or (2.5) (4)
or (2) (4)?

is any one accent more pronounced than any of the other ones, or are they all the same?

And when playing, should I tap my foot on 1 and 3?

I'm a flamenco newbie as well, so keep that in mind

Here's how I was taught to count Tangos:

4 beats
(one) (TWO AND) (THREE) (FOUR)

So, no accent on one - first accent is on two.

one twoandthree four

Hope that makes sense

RavennaFlamenco has some nice metronomes. Yeah I count the rhythm the same way. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.

What I'm unsure (or a bit confused) are what accents to bring out when playing.

At first I was told (1) (2.5) (4). Then recently, from another source, (2.5) and (4).

After searching Foro Flamenco

it was mentioned that you accent (2) and (4).

So now I'm a bit dazed and confused and hoping someone can get me sober.

in general bring out 4 the strongest. But the beat is 1, and 3, as you stated, but ACCENT can happen it almost infinite ways. ANY beat or off beat might be accented depending on the musical intent. Learn strumming patterns as done by maestros and you will start to get the point.
