Good strings?

I have two guitars A very old classical which I use a black and recently purchased blanca. I have found that the strings make a very real difference to the tone and with the blance I haven’t been able to match the sound of the strings that came from the manufactures. Has any one got a favourite type of strings so I can try them?

Hi Cavedave,

maybe you should try harder tension on the blanca.

It seems like every guitar is different so it's hard to really make a comparison. However for my guitar specifically, I generally like Hard Tension bass and medium tension trebles. I like the composite bass of the D'Addario EJ45C and Galli Titanio trebles.

Hello,

first time post here. I think the only thing you can do is try a variety of strings in succession and keep a journal. In the last six months I have tried Labella 820s, Luthier Popular Supreme which I recommend, Conde Hermanos ($$), Hannabach low tension (green) and many more. I think you will find D'addario, La Bella, Luthier and Hannabach are the main ones to try. The right tension will depend on your guitar and your taste.
