RE: Bach - Double S1002 - SCALE EXER... (in reply to Guest

J.S. Bach never composed for guitar. For which instrument was that initially? Do you know? Piano? Double string changes are there which are relatively uncommon for guitar scales.

Anyway.. playing is best practice. Thank you for sharing!

Bach never ceases to amaze me for musical ideas and technical difficulty. I did the cello prelude earlier this year and am still struggling with the violin partita right now. This is a great exercise.
BTW Doit, it doesnt really matter which instrument you play Bach on.....its difficult on all of them, even the ones for which the pieces were originally written for!

oh.. I thought maybe its easier on the instrument which it is for.
For example if you play arpegio or simply strum through some chords on the guitar..maybe with open tuning.. This very easy thing woud be difficult on a piano in some cases... That was the idea behind my comment.

I saw some Bach interpretations on guitar. Also flamenco-lyzed. He is one of the coolest classical composers IMO.

Well, yes and no. I could sight read this scale work at relatively high speed on the piano but you're certainly correct that Bach is not easy to play. I'm having a very difficult time with some of the inventions and won't even attempt any of the really challenging works.
