Luthier skills, are they worth it?

It seems to be a complete documentary, but in this part he talks about the soundboard and chladny patterns....but at the end of the video he says that there are no microphones that can compete with our ears...so it all comes down to craftsmanship...

+1 for craftsmanship again

As I read earlier somewhere today:
"De herinnering aan slechte kwaliteit blijft nog lang hangen nadat de lage prijs is vergeten..."

"The memory to bad quality still remains after one has forgotten the price..."

And more of the documentary:

and more to be seen at:

I think all luthiers are a completely worthless bunch:) ;) Their skills in fact are worth less than just about any other skilled labor. They all should learn how to do something more practical.

As always the german precission...I liked the part when he says "Now we can talk about the guitar whilst he was already talking 5 minutes about the guitar.

@Peter
I do agree, knocking on wood, making the same shape everytime again...I still wander if luthiers aren't secretly hugging trees.

Nah, to be serious...I am only involved with guitars for 1.5 years now, but at that time I was thinking like that": "Give me a factory guitar with german precission, those are the best."
What a nitwit I was (am)...just love to see how passionate you have to be building guitars.
