Hahahha, great discussions always about business cards. How many of you actually do look at a business card the way as described above?
Normally its just like: "Oh yeah, I have a card somewhere from him with his telephone number", never heard anybody saying: "Oh yeah, that card, with the grean tie, which actually should be flamenco red, and without his head.."
Business cards are way overrated. IMO, it just should be plain and simple, not fancy stuff. Duotone, or perhaps Tritone, or you should at least already have earned some money paying for the full colour ones.
Imagine in about 100 years people going to the musea "Wow, did you people know this is the original painting from Anthony "Tiri" Tran's business card

Well, since you asked - it looks very slick and professional, -But.....
The chartreuse green is really jarring, jumps out at you too much, and is pretty non-flamenco.
Photo I think its a mistake to not have your face in it. This way it looks like clip-art.
Nicnkame Non-flamencos, ie. most bookers, won't get the 'Tiriti' nickname at all. If they're English speaking, they won't be able to even pronounce it, a bad start to a business relationship. I'd be careful about the name.

HHAHA!!! you guys are awesome!! i should have known better than to do anything without consulting the foro first. unfortunately, i already gave vistaprint money and now they're printing them the way it is. i'm going to see if i can cancel
about the color, i didn't have a red tie. lol. i had a green tie and the card was green by default. i didn't think about just photoshopping it, duh! maybe i should have different colors so that they can be collectible.
i thought about going with shirt open but thought the tie color and font would go nice together. better than my manly chest hair does.
about the effect, i wanted something more abstract. but it needed to be a little extreme because when it's scaled down, it's less noticeable.but still, maybe i went too far. maybe i should have none as some have suggested.
about the headless flamenco guitarist, i thought it would be a little vain to put a picture of me but the card felt too empty with just words. so i thought an abstract picture focusing on the guitar would be better.
about the hand pose, doit, you're right, it's not practical at all. but looks cool. but still, dont you bar chords and play picado runs over them sometimes?
i really appreciate all the feedback, i love all the variations!

You definitely made the correct decision. The too-casual (and often contrived), unbuttoned shirt look is vastly overrated. All the flamenco greats--Sabicas, Nino Ricardo, and even Paco de Lucia, Paco Cepero (in their great late-1960s video on Youtube with Camaron and Turronero), and others--all played in jacket and tie. The music is great and the artists convey a certain elegance.
Cheers,
Bill

I agree.
People will be hiring you for what you do, not how you look...and the card concentrates on just that. When you put your face on it, folk naturally start looking at that instead of the guitar and try to work out what kinda person you are from your expression etc etc. That's just instinctive human psychology IMO.
Don't cancel. The card's OK the way it is. Green is maybe not my favourite colour, but it looks rather classy there IMO.
Artists should be non-conformists.
You're not going for a job interview for a White House internship.

thanks ron! i couldn't cancel anyways. btw, anyone who wants to buy cards from vistaprint.com, know that they have really low prices but charge you up the buttocks for shipping.
i also left out my face because that would require some facial grooming and a haircut, which i have been putting off for some months now.

when the card is in your hand the vertical-horizontal won't matter, i've had a card with vertical text and it looked great... it's the contract and harmony of colors that really matter...
