i have been taking time out from guitar , and purchased a cheap flute, and oud, and keyboard, does any one else play the oud ? im also interested in just getting basics going for piano and flute .

Here's my free advise amigo: you've got piano, a string instrument, a wind instrument, what is missing is some percussion.
No seriously, Úd is very very difficult, at least if you wanna play proper maqam. Flute is also damn hard to play, it takes time to get a nice embouchure.
