Hi, Everyone, I recently bought a brand new guitar made by Andy Culpepper, aka your fellow forum member DeTeresa1. I had a really great experience having it made, it's awesome. He didn't put me up to this, by the way. :) I see that he did tell you guys about his new website.
He made me a beautiful spruce blanca. It's the only guitar I've named out of the many that I've had, and that might tell you something. Muy flamenco, able to attack loudly or sweetly sing as needed. Nice and responsive for rasgueos. The workmanship is outstanding, with a number of very subtle custom details made with my needs and requests in mind. The playing action is nice and low, and intonation is solid. I find that I'm not reaching for my cejilla much at all, even when playing some of those stretchy Vicente Amigo chords. I can also manage my Jason lessons better now! My nice student model Pedro De Miguel negra is now resting comfortably for the foreseeable future, but is admittedly somewhat jealous. :)
I've played her at several gigs now, and am delighted with the results.
I didn't want to overwhelm you with details, but I certainly will answer questions you may have. I hope you'll check his guitars out.
Ciao, Dave

RE: deteresa1's guitar made for me (in reply to chupacabra)
Deteresa is a wonderful surprise. His music is wonderful (pleas do listen to his awesome entry in the ongoing Challenge) and his guitars seem to reflect the same elegance, precision and passion. I am so pleased to see his career blooming so wndefully before our eyes in such short span of time.
Can Dave post a viedo of this new and interesting Andy’s blanca in action? 'can't really leave us famished of details after the lovely praise you posted, Dave... I am so curious now.

I don't think Dave comes on here much so I think I can answer: Just the usual: neck shape, string spacing, aesthetics, wood choices, action height, sound qualities (that's kind of a hard one)...
The pictures there are pretty washed out and don't show the nice silking on the top.. but I'm just being nitpicky
RE: deteresa1's guitar made for me (in reply to gj Michelob)
Hi GJ, I don't have any video gear, but I will try to record something and put it here sometime. I believe Andy made a recording of her somewhere on the forum when she was almost done.
It's true, I don't post that often, I just lurk occasionally. I'm reticent to hang out here, as my views either start controversy or are met with resounding silence, just as on other forums. :)
I also don't enjoy recording that much, as I don't have the incredible clean chops of a Jason or Ricardo. But maybe I'll put one of my tremolos up here or my nice easy new guajiras. Just to hear the guitar, not to try to compete with the luminaries here.
