Manuel Adalid Viviana Flamenca

Last October I bought a Manuel Adalid Viviana flamenca blanca and am very pleased with it. It is light, has a perfect setup, and has a very nice flamenco sound. Manuel Adalid is the head luthier at Esteve and makes his own line of flamenca blancas and negras on the side. For anyone who is interested in a flamenca blanca or negra in the lower-mid price range (I paid US$2,500), I would strongly recommend you consider a Manuel Adalid Viviana. My experience, at least, is that it is a fine instrument for the money.

Manuel Adalid is making some really nice sounding guitars, and the Viviana model is a good example and a good price. However, he experiments quite a bit, and one of his experiments is with carbon fiber bracing, which I don't think he uses on the Viviana. I'm not sure if he has tried this only on his classicals or also on his flamencos. I heard a couple of these, and personally I thought they sounded horrible. So I would recommend first inquiring about the construction, and if any model you're thinking about has carbon fiber bracing, I would suggest trying to hear it first. You might easily disagree with me about the sound, but at least I think you should listen first.

I played a couple and I concur that they sound great and feel good for the money. The only thing I don't like is the head cut design...too spiky.
