Anyone in Granada this weekend 11 de...
Just in case some of you are passing through Granada and looking for something flamenco to do :) Or hey Anders if you can come down from the mountains, it would be good to see you.
Emilio Maya is playing at the Peña La Plaería this Saturday, with his group they are presenting his CD 'Temple' live. Should be wild when it comes to the final Bulerías with half of the flamenco singers in Granada on stage :0 Olé

Hi Simon
Yeah sorry you cant make it. Emilio is always playing at the Peña, but usually accompanying singers and dancers so this is a great chance to see him play all his own compositions from the album. We're also arranging something in Madrid but no definite date yet.

Nice one Kate. I've got stuff to do tomorrow, but maybe I should cut that beard, take a shower, put some clean clothes on and walk down them lonesome mountain roads while I sing "he'll be comming down the mountain whe he come". I'm horrible, I know. I'm never in Granada anymore. It could be that I can change my arrangements. I think I can.
What time is he on. And is it possible at all to get in. You know Peña la Platería is not always easy. And especially on saturdays. I'm not really in the mood for changing plans and in the end stand outside in the frost unable to come in. Can you arrange something?

He'll be on at 11 - 11.30 and yes you're right Sat is a socios night, and they can be difficult about letting the public in. Have you got my mobile? If not email me and I'll give it to you. If you have any problem getting in just call me and I'll sort it.

The concert was great, packed out with members who sat in raptures as Emilio played the first part solo. He didn't bring the bass player as at the Peña they like things 'puro' but one of the Ketama lads showed up with a djembe which would have irritated them ;) Ana Calí was ill with the terrible flu going round Granada but La Fuensanta was in the audience and she got up and danced to great applause. Victor 'El Charico' and Antonio Campos sang. There was a great write up in the paper on the Monday with a lovely photo claiming Emilo has created a CD of the highest standard.
