On Playing

Quite a few folk who play professionally, either full or part- time now post on the Forum.
Any chance you guys can post a little bit of your playing?
Apart from the usual old hacks, (and even some of those are posting nothing these days!), there are very few uploads.
Qué pasa?
In the last good few weeks only Barney, Jim Opfer, Grant, Florian, Skai and myself have uploaded anything as far as I am aware
Everybody got a fit of shyness or something?
Or is it just that they want to get paid for their efforts like MdM. LOL!

cheers

Ron

I've had problems uploading unfortunately. Also, I have scavenged my recording equipment for cords!

Do I come under the 'usual old hack' umbrella, Ron?

If so, I am working on a solo which I will post when its ready, but its quite complex and needs work. After the ruthless drubbing I got for my version of Herencia Latina, I am being more careful this time .

Hi Jon,
I suppose what I'm meaning is I'd quite like to hear some of the newer guys or longer term members who are maybe even playing gigs but haven't posted any audio yet.
Posting a clip gives other members a chance to understand more about you.
Whether you are into Traditional stuff, Modern stuff, or just Flamenco influenced stuff, and also the technical level you've reached, so it makes for better understanding as to where you're coming from when reading your posts or replies to posts.
Not to judge whether you are as good as PdL or Tomatito LOL!

You should have taken the criticizm as a compliment Jon, as it means that you came a bit short of your usual excellent standard LOL!
Anyway, I could tell that you'd moved on from just flirting with Flamenco as part of your
Classical/Popular set and were now getting pretty involved with getting it right.

We're not born knowing this stuff. It takes a helluva lot of practise and seeking out little scraps of info and keeping hoping we're on the right track. It's bloody hard!
In that way, we should look at the Forum as a self-help group or a confessional where we can post clips of our latest offerings for comments or advice.

cheers

Ron

Yes, definitely! I try to listen to everything that gets posted.

On that point, it would be nice if more people contributed to feedback, too, especially if they themselves are going to be posting audio. Give and take and all that.

I was only teasing I expect honest criticism from people like yourself.

I agree with Ron!!! Come on and makes some audio uploads!
I made lots of uploads in the beginning now i feel like i shouldn´t
Theres lot´s of players that havent uploaded anything. The level of playing doesn´t matter at all i enjoy everything just as much.

Hm Now i feel like makeing an upload it was months a go...but don´t want to borr you to death either

Henrik,

Post away! I miss your stuff. I'm still playing some of the Solea you posted with tab. Keep-em coming.
