Ok, I´m a bit too late... 2009 was a year for me when Flamenco became the first position in my personally music ranking (hearing and playing) and it would be interesting for me what you guys liked the past year. In most music magazines they do some cheesy reader polls every year... So if you wan´t, give a feedback...
Your Favourite:
A) Flamenco Album released 2009 B) Flamenco Track released 2009 C) Live Show/Flamenco concert you joined D) Dancer E) Singer F) Guitarist
I personally don´t like this point in polls, but feel free:
A) the only album i know it was released 2009 is Paseo de Garcia. The album i listened the most in 2009 was probably Sembrando inquietudes by Ramon Jimenez B) again ignoring the release date, Jason McGuires "Pavan" Bulerias and Juan Carlos Gomez with "Recipando" were inspiring findings for me in 2009 C) Rafaela Carrasco and group D) i wished i could give a more interesting answer, but it boils down too Sara Baras. Shes just one "step" ahead if you get me E) Juaneke F) Chicuelo for his collaboration on Juaneke. Also Diego Moraos YouTube clips were a good source of inspiration 2009. G) Cigala for his cuban bolero stuff. I was at the concert and i swear you the first 4 pieces sounded exactly the same. One buleria solo by Diego Morao, a Tangos and a buleria at the end saved this concert from being a cheesy 4/4 nightmare for me...
A) There are not so many new Albums I`ve heard, so it´s Paseo de gracia from Vicente... the album I´ve listened the most was also Ramon Jimenez and everything from Tomatito. B) Autorretrato from Paseo de Gracia C) Also Vicente Amigo in concert, also Moraito solo in concert was great D) Mercedes Ruiz E) Montse Cortes F) Very difficult, I think last year was a Moraito year for me because I´ve learned many falsetas from him,
A. EL Aire de Jerez, an amazing 3 CD collection from three Jerez families, los Moneo, Los Zambo and Los de la Morena, actually released in 2006 but i bought it in 2009 , dont think we bought any 2009 releases this year ! http://www.deflamenco.com/resenas/verArticuloi.jsp?codigo=FLA%7C1558
B. Have to confess Pitingo's "Killing Me Softly" for the memories of us all singing along driving in the car. At last flamenco I can sing along to and I know the words !!!
C. Farruquito' show 'Puro'
D Fuensanta La Moneta.
E. Miguel Lavis, a young singer from Jerez.
F. Emilio Maya, always my favourite
G. Oh dear has to be Juan Andres Maya at the Festival de Otoño in Granada.
A-G) I dont really know which one of my favourites really published this year.... The time goes by so fast... yesterday I found a tape I made at a concert...it was 2005! Man.. it felt like I taped it last year..
Jesus Mendez from Jerez has a great CD, refreshing to hear a young singer doing very old school cante's of Paquera and Caracol. He has a lot of feeling and power. Great accompaniments from Moraito, Diego, and couple other guys too.
