Thank You guys! I'm not giving up flamenco!! I just need to focus on some other things now, to get a better understanding of music in general. Thursday is my first class! I'm not planning to play any electric guitar or so, just stick to my blanca, so I hope I end up with stuff like Antal Pusztai or Ferenc Snétberger one day...
I've keyed in the chicuelo part.. (I haven't gotten any further yet ) I might key in the rest tomorrow and try uploading but there are some problems with the foro and gp5. I think they can be worked around though.

maybe if he uploads it with another extension. then we can save it as the proper one.
i've keyed in about one line that was giving me trouble. but now i realize there are many other parts that are giving me trouble as well.
Stu.. there's an awkward workaround. you could export it as musicXML and post the XML as regular text in a post, that way it can be copied into a file and recreated in GP5's all over the world :-) I think... Uh.. perhaps not, because the XML text would be veery long.
Well I managed to find a bloke playing some of the Chicuelo bits on youtube and thought I'd put it here, if it helps anyone... (hopefully he won't mind!)
Now to find some Pepe bits...
Jenny
EDIT: Took it out as Guy sent a waaay better one - thanks!
Hmm.. There might be clips of chicuelo playing it himself, this guy isn't playing it very clean at all (not saying i can do it better myself at this point), but it's not a very good reference.

RE: Intermediate Challenge??? (in reply to gshaviv)
hey, ive just been studying the bit of pepes music in my gp5 file and there are a few hammers/pull offs missing. sure you can go through and compare with source material
but its mainly in first few bars, the remates in the arpeggio section. bar one and five maybe more too
Stu, There are bound to be a couple errors in the tab but thanks for giving us a place to start from. I'm working on the piece but can't commit to joining yet, I need to see if I can make any progress or not. I've been enjoying the first couple lines though. Rod
Is there a background compas track for this piece, and if so, is it just in one tempo, or are there multiple tempos from which to choose...and must our final submission be in the same tempo as the mp3 that was provided for download? This song is incredibly fast. Am I the only that's in way over their head?
There is a compas track. Email me and i can give you the link. So far i wanted to ask all if the deadline is ok? Sounds like it is very hard and it surely is for me too. Im not sure if giving this another 2 weeks or so would not do it more justice.

I think the deadline is fine. It's still over a month away, what I will not be able to play be then, two more weeks will not help (just prolong the misery...) Personally, I won't have much time to work on it starting end of this month.
btw, is there a requirement how fast we need to play it?

If you start end of this month (like me) its not over a month as you say; more like 2 weeks until oct 12. Its just a proposal. Just checking how others feel about that. But its doable until the 12th of course...

Hey, I'm not against pushing the date, just think that two more weeks will not help me get better what I couldn't get in a month. I probably need something like twenty more years ;-), how about it? can we push the deadline by twenty years?
RE: Intermediate Challenge??? (in reply to gshaviv)
gshaviv, I'd like to get that video of PH and Chicuelo playing the track, but I don't see a private message icon by your name. You might have it disabled. Thanks!
i remember picking october 12 so it wouldn't interfere with the cante challenge. we would have to add at least 3 weeks so the two challenges can be at least a week apart. somebody may need to double the check the dates for me.

gshaviv, sorry to hear that about the twenty years! leo, cante challenge ends 31st sept. But i guess there will be one week or so "aftertalk", lol. We can also add 3 weeks. So far 2 people responded. Is anybody strikingly against it??? Tempos, i think Chicuelo is 140-50 and Pepe a bit faster. I have uploaded speeds of 120, 144, 152.
