Juan Serrano book

I just got the book "Systematic Studies for Flamenco Guitar".
Has anyone used this book? I mostly want to know what you all
think the best parts are so I can start there.

Im a serious player, practice 10hrs a week over the past year, and
would say Im at a solid intermediate level on all the techniques.
I usually stay in compás too. Im almonst finished memorizing all of
the Juan Martin 2 book set.

Thanks!

I am about 6 months behind you on JM second book, so keep me posted on what you think of Juan Serranos book. My teacher recomended Paco Pena Toques Flamencos to continue after JM's.
I have purchased JM Solos Flamencos vol 1 an 2 that I use to complement JM 2nd book.

Like I said keep me posted.

My opinion is after JM's books, your basic repertoire will still be a bit short.
Find a Rumba, Tangos, and Garrotin right after you finish JM.

One thing I like already about Juan Serrano's book is a really cool tremolo
falseta in one of his Alegrias.

Note- The Serrano book is only in staff notation, so you need to be able to read
without tab if you want to use it.

JM has 2 serries:

- The El Carte, book1 and 2
- Solos Flamenco: set1 and 2 (with video). These sets has plenty of Rumba, Tango, Garrotin

Systematic Studies For Flamenco Guitar has both staff and CIFRA (at least the copy I have has both). Bulerias and Siguiriyas falsettas are great too.
