It looks like Indian rosewood. At least on the outside. It could be laminated but can't tell without looking at the inside. Since the fingerboard is rosewood it's probably a student model and quite possibly laminated back and sides.

It's not a Ramirez that's for sure but possibly the luhtiers version of one.

Hi M.S.A,

I found this on the internet, http://www.joseflidl.cz/eng/ and in the section "History" I read that they produced stringed instruments. At the end of the history there seems to be diploma of Josef Lídl - Brno.

Maybe you can inquire about your guitar there?

I can not tell you anything about the guitar tho.
Rob.

Interesting stuff R0bbie,

This phrase gets me though...

"The manual filling up with lead and beating out of the shoot has a significat influence on the sound of the instrument."

Is this a mistranslation of "Filling it up with lead and manually beating the sh*t out of it to produce a significant influence on the sound"?

If so, then MSA is certainly carrying on the tradition.

cheers,

Ron

Hello M.S.A.

To keep cost down some makers use a laminated back and sides instead of one solid piece of wood. Meaning the outside(wood that shows) will be glued together with another piece of wood. Either of the same kind or something different.

A way to tell is to look inside at the wood of the back and study the grain patterns. If what you see on the inside matches what you see on the outside then you have a solid piece of rosewood.

I have a feeling is it solid rosewood and not laminated. I wouldn't worry about the brace pattern. If you like it that's all that matters. The head has a similar shape but that's about it.
