measure on the saddle

Hi friends,

my question is: what should the measure be on the saddle (puente)between first

and sixth string(mi to Mi)? 58mm?60mm?

I have realized that it varies some make 58mm and some 60mm.

Thanks.

Karbor

There´s no "right" meassurement. Its personal and also a compromise.

The personal part is: the smaller the hand the narrower. The bigger the hand the wider.

Compromise, wider stringspace makes arpeggios and tremolos feel easyer but makes thumb tecniques like alzapua seem more complicated.

Modern flamenco guitars are wider than older ones. 50 years ago it wasn´t unusual that string spacing was 56mm. Nowadays its between 58 and 60mm. I

I peronally play 59mm which I find to be a good compromise.
