Ahh we are back on the logo again.. cool. I remember we did this for the other foro which is now the Traditional only foro. I don't agree with the bailaora pic...I mean c'mon how many of us are really dancers here in the FORO? I appreciate cante y baile but I think this is predominantly a guitarist/luthier's foro...Amen to that! I suggest we use a flamenca blanca as the logo..maybe a peghead for peghead lovers or have some talented forum member(s) contribute their own design and we can vote on it...I know Doit and a few other will have some ideas especially with their Photoshop skills

Don, you must have missed the real discussion recently: Website graphics

- some excellent stuff from kozz, no frilly dresses anywhere.

Haha,
a new logo,.....

I think we should skip the guitar in the logo because it might end up in a debate wheter it should contain a soundport or not

we shouldn't use a pic of belen, as she is not an innovator, everyone knows the only true innovator in flamenco is paco de lucia, we should use a pic of him....

u realise shes not interested in you or me or ...how should i put this... anyone who is a man ...i dont know about your feelings but it makes her even hotter to me..her and i have things in common

as far as the logo i am down for whatever as long as we stop talking about it and just pick one and change the old one allready...we shared ideas about it for 5 months..we never gonna all agree on 1...majority would do...whatever goes up there will be better then what we have now...no disrespect to whomever designed it...then it was good..now we can do it even better thanks to better aand eazyer to use software

set a deadline ..everybody do your ideal logo send em to Ron, stick them all into a poll and everyone else votes..majority wins

Personally, I never spend any time looking at the logo, so it doesn't bother me either way.

I just tend to spend my time here reading the member's posts.

Can't really understand why anyone wants to change it....
I mean, will it make them happier or something?

cheers,

Ron

That is bullcrap and not what I said or meant to say. I am not anti-technology, I am all for innovation.

But I think when you define yourself (and I am speaking corporate identities) there is something refreshing about maintaining and protecting. The Vancouver Canucks have changed their logo throught the years, whereas Montreal Canadiens have not. I'd rather be in the Canadiens camp. You can have the canucks and all their logo changes.

And why not a dancer, who the heck are we playing for? A dancer is a wonderful beautiful image. I'd rather look at a beautiful woman then some ugly guy on a guitar if you don't mind - or a child prodigy!

i can undertand that....people love the forum...wanna take pride in everything about it...including the appearence

many things have changed...we changed homes for a while, exciting challenges have been introduced..it might be a nice refreshing litlle insegnificant gesture..a fresh logo to represent fresh starts...its no big deal...it might or might not be noticed ...but if someone is willing to do it...i am all for it

but whomever feels strongly about this should take charge and make a plan allready and do it...we never all gonna agree on the same one

Yes, it will make *them* happy. What about us? What about me!!!!!

When you work for a while you will run across a boss who is all about change and personal development. Always got to improve yourself, blah blah blah. Get to the next level, move up to the star chamber.

I dont care ...but the tread is up again so imagine someone does..

its not "that bad" but thers always room for improvement...it dosent "have" to be changed ...but if it makes someone happy to do new ones.. i will look at them and vote

EDIT...just had another look at the logo

to be fair it does look like the logo was made on windows 95 or Dos reminds me of the computer games made in the early 90s..but then thats when it was probably made ?

but i dont care enough about it to say yay or nay...those that do and are willing to do something about it should take charge and il submit my vote like everyone else otherwise you will be discussing this 2 years from now and still find that not everyone agrees

Yep, it's an old MS Office clip art.

Actually, I don't agree and I am keeping it for now - it might suck, but it kind of reminds me of when we started this place and why.

Let's go back to talking about soundports.

My love for her is too pure to think of such things. She doesn't have to do anything except keep dancing.

As for the logo, I think it could do with a bit of a refresh (an update of the forum app too might be good too).

I think the font should remain the same, as I mentioned before, for continuity.
Adding in something to acknowledge tocaores would not be bad - maybe something reminiscent of the Encuentros logo.

But a dancer is necessary. Not just because a pretty girl is always called for, but she's like a mascot by now.

Well when I've spent a bit of time doing something to contribute to the foro (rightly or wrongly) and you come on saying "no" 15 times and describing what I did as bullsh*t, expect a response.

As for the logo, I'm personally not fussed either way, it's just a logo. It took me like 30 seconds to knock my image together. If Escribano wants to keep the current one that's good enough for me.

Regarding the logo..I respect Simon's decision.

It's not noble. She just makes me happy. In a non-interactive way. I assume everyone else is in love with her too. Because anything else seems... unnatural and impossible.

I don't think I'd actually be able to talk to her. I'm sure she's a special lady, but her dance is more than perfect, in my eyes. I wouldn't want to alter it with any other knowledge.

As for the foro... well, as long as we can share knowledge and love of things flamenco without killing each other, I don't think the logo's a big issue.

However, I will say that my new wide-screen monitor does make the logo appear a wee bit pixelated/dated.

No, NO NO please leave the logo alone. I can't stand all of this change bullsh*t to freshen stuff up, make it more modern, to improve it, it is tired, we need to appeal to the younger generation, the metrosexuals, blah blah blah. There is nothing wrong with keeping things the same.

i agree.

we don't wanne end up like this
