Hello everybody! Is mixing a buleria falsetas with different tunings a good idea? (Will it work) For example (the beginning of Pinonate - some other falsetas with the standard tuning)

Hmmm...well.... if you can figure out a way to tune the guitar while staying in the Bulerias compas, that would work great Now THAT would be innovation.

Paco himself does EXACTLY that. He plays some falsetas of Piñonate mixed with normal por medio, but has to change some fingerings obviously.
He also will take falsetas from other tonalities and mix them in. For example "Chiquito" in G# he changed to por medio, and many falsetas from Key of C# and vice versa.
And his Tangos Cañada had that weird tuning but he plays parts of that one in D phrygian. And from Cositas Buenas he took parts of bulerias in E phrygian and put them into C# phrygian live.

Ricardo is exactly right. It is possible to transfer falsetas into another tuning.
I took a small part of a falseta from La Tumbona (por medio) as an inspiration for a Bulería por Rondeña falseta. I had to find a fingering that allows to play this melody. Finally it is hardly recognisable from which falseta it was taken from, because it doesn't really sound like it anymore, but it worked as an excellent inspiration.

Thanks! But I find playing Pinonate with standard tuning harder than playing other falsetas with Pinonate tuning maybe that's because Pinonate takes you down? Flat B and D?

Hi Sarkin,
well you will laugh but Paco did that as fist person in flamenco! If Ruben would read that he would be happy...
Listen to cobre, Pacos sevillanas. He plays these sevillanas in different frets and also one of the 4 sevillanas in with dropped D. You cant perform it live if you cant change the guitar quickly.
