Friends in the U.S. - flamenco book

Dear flamenco friends,

I am pleased to announce that I am in the beginning stages of compiling a book about flamenco. I would like to include as many of you as possible, including singers, dancers, guitarists, and all of the many contributors to the art and genre of flamenco.

If you would like to be a part of the book, please send me your NAME, E-MAIL, and CITY/STATE in which you reside. Please Do Not send me a private message. E-mail me at book@flamencosara.com. I am building a database of contributors, all of whom I will get in contact with in the next few months. There is no cost to you other than your time. I plan on traveling around the country, taking pictures and interviewing you, and that's about it. Once it's all complete, I will create a book and you will be in it!

This is a great opportunity to be publicly recognized and be a part of a meaningful and close-knit project. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you are as excited as I am to embark upon this journey.

Warmest wishes,
Sara

That sounds very interesting. Do you have an outline about how its gonne become. I mean more details? I am not a big figure in flamenco... just an aficionado.. but maybe I would be interested. Well,.. could become expensive to visit me or other members.. I guess you would see the whole world.. except africa and the antactis...

Well, I don't want to give too much away at this point. Unfortunately, this particular book will only cover the U.S. I hope to eventually be able to do one about other countries/continents, but this is where I'm starting.

:D

well.. sorry deleted my entry.. Ok I answer yours below mine in this post here...

Answere: If you dont know us you could ask anybody.. If you are interested in the forum people you would know me, and you would know if I sing, dance or play the guitar , and if Im experieced or not.. I know that about a lot of our members here....

I should shut up now because Im already in bed and tired.. and I think anybody here knows when I get tired.. I get unpolite.. :./

To make it short: No detaild informations about the content of the book, author, publishing scale (impact), where its gonna be published, reason for the book etc.. means no personal information about me. Im out, good night.

Possibly. It will focus more on musicians and dancers, so as long as you play, sing or dance.... or do palmas.

Hey, you Europeans have all the fun anyway...write your own damn book

Sara, it sounds really cool! I will email you, even though you probably won't want to come out to a little college town in New York State for a mediocre player such as me...anyway I'll give you info in the email.

You won't get all the good US players on this forum...do you know Tito and Ana Rubio? Tito is "so flamenco puro he doesn't even use email" but I will email Ana and ask if she is interested.

hahha We should make a video documentary with interviews of all members here like the guitarroro documentary. With playing samples and insights of the different places we do flamenco. I mean the danceschools all over the world and other locations. I think that would be extremely interesting. I also think flamenco can be much better dealed with in a movie than a book.. Books about music... well..

Yay!

Hey, it's not "about music." But I can't tell you what it's about or it will ruin it all!!!!

Im grumpy like the two old men in the muppets show.. Dont worry about my posts, here are enough nice people who are also interested and in the US.

Sounds like a great project but, as someone who hasn't even made it to his second year of studies and who divides his time between other styles, I don't feel worthy of inclusion.

Maybe in three more years.

If anyone would like more detailed information about this project, please ask and I will send you a private message.

This project is intended to include artists from beginning levels to very advanced ones. Old, young, experienced, novice, all are welcome. The goal of this project is not to showcase skills. Please let me know if you'd like to know what the goal is. :)
