What did you want to know. heres a webpage with some info. http://www.zavaletas-guitarras.com/mirror/joslopez.htm

If you have a specific question, I can always pass by his workshop. I was there only the other day.

Well Kate, I hope it is not too much trouble for you!
But if you want to do it for me, I be very happy!

When you speak to him, can you tell him he makes fantastic guitars, and I am very happy with the one I have!

This are the questions i like to ask him:

1 Is he using some different innerwork construction?
I mean the bracing?

2 I have one with clavijas ( peghead ) how much clavijas does he make a year?

3 Is the construction of the clavijas done on the oldfashion way, or does he use a
new system ( I have heared J.L.Bellido makes some harder wood at the inside of the hole where the clavija is going in)

4 He was a professional guitarist, I have been told, so I like to know what strings he prefer on his guitars.

Perhaps it is easyer for you, or Mr Bellido, to email me
My email adress is :

pc.vandortmondt@quicknet.nl

I speak a little spanish, so that would be no problem.

Kate, thanks for your help!

Peter

Hi Peter

Well I've printed out your questions so when I go up the Cuesta Gómerez next week, I'll pop in and see him. Its no trouble, I will be passing his shop anyway.

Kate

I was just thinking there is much interest in Luthiers that it may be a suggestion for deflamenco to do a feature on various guitar makers. Perhaps someone should mention it to Estela.

Hi Peter,
There is a great article about Luthiers in Spain, specifically Granada in Acoustic Guitar magazine, January 2004. It was written by Charles Vega (C. Vega) who happens to be a member of this forum. You may already be familiar with him, but he is a luthier himself here in the U.S. and is known to be quite a resource of information on many subjects relating to luthiery. The article is very well written but more general than anything. Still it's an interesting read. He does mention most of the well known makers in Granada including Jose Lopez Bellido. I think you can probably order copy on their website.
