Strings

For the past few months I have seen that most in this forum prefer La Bella strings, can you give me the pro's and con's.
I have neen using Hanabauch (sp) Flamenco Medium Tension on my guitar., but thinking of trying others.

D'addario normal tension (J-45) Pro Arte. (not the composites)

Stay away from carbon trebles.

La Bella trebles are extremely lame...I just use basses from Labella.
For trebles I use D'addario. They are richer, purer and more harmonic. I think Labella basses have a great flamenco tone though, and they feel thinner to me than D'addario so are easier to play.

Aquila nylgut trebles are the best I've ever tried. They're stable, have great intonation and just the right blend of brilliance and warmth. Not only do they sound like gut, but they have this interesting wavy/rough texture to them just like real gut. And they're white, so they look cool.

I'm still experimenting with basses.

Too bright, too thin. The concept ( i sincerely believe) behind carbons
was to make cheap, dark sounding classical guitars sound more lively and
project a bit better.

If you have a mid to high end flamenco guitar, they definately have no purpose in my opinion.

Stick with nylon. If you want to have some fun and go old school, try some
rectified nylon trebles. They will give you that extra dry Sabicas/Nino Ricardo
vibe.

If you dont like the D'addario, which is hard to imagine, you might try some Luthiers.
