Help, 3-stroke ras in solea 

Hi all,

I've been using mostly 4-stroke ras [a-m-i-i] in solea. Now I want to use the 3-stroke style ras [p-m-p] which will substitute the 4-stroke one and also provide variety. How do I go about? Please advise.

4-stroke:
a-m-i-i, a-m-i-i, i[down], i[up], a-m-i-i, a-m-i-i, i[down], i[up],a-m-i-i, i[down], i[up], a-m-i-i, i[down], i[up], i[down]
1--------2--------3-----------------4--------5--------6----------------7--------8-----------------9--------10--------11----12

3-stroke aquivalent:
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

So it's 8 measures and 12 counts...or first 4 measures for 12 counts, second 4 measures for 12 counts. Not sure where the accents fall.

yeah this one

the whole piece is 24 beats or two lots of 12.

Top row is 12, then 12 more under that ending on the E chord (beat 10)

the accents are marked with G for golpe and they fall on beats 6, 8, 10 and 12 on first row.

for the pmp sections remember that there are 6 strokes to each beat.

The triplets from the pdf are one variation, that being 2 times p-m-p per count.

The rhythmic equivalent to the above could be

a-m-i-p, a-m-i-p, a[down], p[up] with all p's up
1--------2--------3-----------------

or

p-a-p-p, a-p-p-a, p[down], p[up] starting with p up
1--------2--------3-----------------

or simply alternating between p up and a down.
